The World Needs Heroes!
The Graf Dairy Hero Foundation (GDHF) promotes a culture of heroic virtues in our youth by utilizing a unique collection of silver and bronze age (1960’s-80’s) hero memorabilia as inspiration. Donations make this happen! All proceeds go directly to the Foundation’s activities and people, projects and organizations which exemplify these ideas through our financial backing. Please give and help us create the heroes of the future!
How We Do It!
Our mission is to inspire and educate kids to adopt “heroic” qualities in thought and conduct through our exciting 50-year collection/exhibit of superhero memorabilia. It’s a unique and effective approach: by harnessing kids’ inherent love and interest in superheroes, we help instill a heroic mindset and cultivate stoic habits of character to improve personal success and a healthy society.
Why Are Virtues Important?
Given the right environment and stimulus, all kids naturally aspire to do good. The traditional virtues underpinning the Superheroes of this era all begin with COURAGE: the courage to be responsible, the courage to persevere during adversity, the courage to honor your family/parents/country with your conduct, the courage to do what is right when all others are doing wrong or standing idol in the face of evil. Net, through the GDHF, we will inspire kids to be courageous in such virtues as:
Concurrently, today’s kids’ are often conditioned by cultural coarseness. They are told to value “identity” over self-improvement and driven to anger/despair by a societal focus on grievance vs can-do optimism. These influences erode our children’s potential, destroy ambition, and create self-fulfilling prophecies of failure. As such, the GDHF will act as a counterbalance to societal trends which promote divisiveness, dependency, victimhood, collectivism, relativism, and unprincipled utilitarianism.
